Overview

Loose wheel nuts lead to lost wheels and serious accidents. HEICO-LOCK® Wheel Nuts carry captive, rotating HEICO-LOCK® wedge lock washers, so the wheel joint is locked by preload and stays tight at high speed, on bad roads and in rough terrain.

The nuts are property class 10, zinc flake coated and supplied pre-lubricated. They fit all common steel disc wheels and can be re-used several times.

They are approved for steel rims on vehicle classes M2, M3, N2, N3, O3, O4, R3, R4, S2 and T1–T5 (2007/46/EC): buses, trucks, trailers, agricultural and forestry tractors and their trailers.

Fitting wheel nuts

1 · CleanRemove rust and dirt from hub, rim bore, studs, nuts and contact faces. Replace rusty or damaged studs and nuts.

2 · Fit the wheelFit the rim on the hub without damaging the studs and push it fully against the hub face. Do not use the wheel nuts to pull the rim on.

3 · Hand-tightScrew all wheel nuts on hand-tight, max. 20 Nm. Impact wrenches only for this pre-assembly at reduced torque.

4 · Torque in a star patternTighten to the assembly torque with a calibrated hand torque wrench in a star pattern. Re-check the torque after the first kilometres.

Nuts are pre-lubricated for first fitting. When re-using, lubricate the thread and the nut-to-rim contact face.
