Overview
A rivet nut (insert nut) gives a strong, reusable thread in sheet metal, tube or plastic that is too thin to tap. It is fitted from one side with a hand or pneumatic tool. The 90° countersunk head sits flush in a countersunk hole. Knurls on the body bite into a round hole to resist spinning.
The open end lets a longer screw pass right through. Available from M3 to M12 with grip ranges from 1.5 mm to 7.5 mm. Each part number covers a set range of sheet thickness and has its own overall length (L), shown in the table.
